Workshop: The Diary as Feminist Genre with LYZZA [FULL]

7 November - Post Office, Amsterdam
19.00

Calling any and all writing enthusiasts! On the 7th of November, join LYZZA in exploring the diary as a feminist genre, centering diary keeping as a tool for reflecting on feminism and artistic creation.

During the writing workshop, five artists present how they use the diary in their work as poets, curators, visual artists, musicians and designers. The work of these artists forms an entry point for individual writing exercises in which participants are given the opportunity to reflect on their creative work, feminism or simply the past week. No experience with writing or a professional artistic practice is necessary to participate.

LYZZA is a Brazilian-Dutch multidisciplinary artist. In 2016, she started her career as a DJ in clubs in Amsterdam. A year later, she released her first EP ‘Powerplay’. In 2022, simultaneously with the LP and film ‘Mosquito’, she also released the Mosquito diaries: videos that provide an insight into her multidisciplinary process. In 2023, she presented ‘Echo’s’ at the Serpentine Gallery in London. LYZZA’s signature is both sonic and visual, and ranges from Afro-Brazilian and Afro-European to global underground cultures.

This event will be held in Dutch!
