FIBER Festival, CTM Festival, in:resonance, 4DSOUND, Ambrio, SOL systems and Loods6 present Currents – Experiments & Performances in Spatial Sound
Futures of Listening comes to ADE with Currents, a four-day programme of experiments and performances in spatial sound, held at Loods6. Across three evenings of live and DJ sets, two days of workshops and demos, and a closing spatial sound meetup, artists work with changing sound system configurations to shape a new listening experience each night. Three types of sound systems – 4DSOUND, in:resonance, and SOL Systems – gather to create different listening settings, from ambient and delicate soundscapes to dynamic DJ sets and live performances.

Thursday 22/10 · 20:00–23:00 (doors 19:30)
Spatial sound performances
Configuration I brings together the subtle omnidirectional soundsystems of in:resonance and 4DSOUND with the soulful speakers and powerful low-end frequencies of Amsterdam based Sol Systems. This setting offers you a special evening featuring live sets by local and international artists, who have created new compositions especially for this 78-metre-long space. Kick back, sit back, wander or simply drift away in the currents of sound.
The first artists will move through the sculptural end of spatial sound. Rrose (Live) brings hypnotic, psychoacoustic techno built on microtonality and the limits of perception. Liza Kuzyakova (Live) works at the intersection of installation, spatial composition and performance, drawing out the perceptual tension between the materiality of objects, acoustic space, and the imaginative dimensions of sound. Hugo Lioret (Live) explores the connections between art, technology, and ecology through electroacoustic composition, improvisation, audiovisual performances, and field recording. Andreas Tegnander (Live), a returning FIBER artist, builds cross-sensory sonic interventions, reimagining technology into ‘public sensory organs’ that surface the invisible forces shaping how we perceive.
Presented by in:resonance and Futures of Listening, in collaboration with SOL Systems.
