But as a musical discoverer, you probably know Waxahatchee as the solo project of Katie Crutchfield, which she started after the P.S. Eliot break-up. Like a true singer-songwriter, Crutchfield goes for the intimate and darker songs about loneliness and relationships gone bad, you know, the ones that settle in your head and make you think for days. Just like the lo-fi bedroom-recorded debut album American Weekend, the introspective 2013 follow-up Cerulean Salt proved to be filled with all the wisdom of a true vagrant soul.
