Originally formed seven years ago as an electronic project that quickly gained popularity at Portland house parties, Wampire totally shifted directions throughout the years. Debut LP Curiosity was an alluring combo of different sonic flavours, on which you’d recognise surf-rock, kraut, new-wave and psych-pop influences all at once, and there was even much more going on. It was silly, frantic, paranoid, surreal, playful and danceable. Together, the chemistry of Rocky Tinder, Eric Phipps and producer Jacob Portrait, Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s bassist, is nothing but infectious, setting your legs on fire.
