Exploring the relationship between technology, multi-sensory embodied encounters, materiality and the virtual sphere, physicaldigitaldigitalphysicalphysicaldigital[…] is a pop-up museum and exhibition that sets out to (re)shape immersive and interactive experiences.
From data-driven projections of the Anthropocene to the attention economy and discordant networks of AI, the exhibition renders the messy binary between the digital and physical, blurring the boundary between the two. Incorporating audiovisual performances, installation
pieces and experimental media, the (inter)national artists featured include participants of Uncloud’s 2023 residency programme.
Displayed throughout the hallways, cells and rooms of the Pieter Baan Centre, a former prison and forensic psychiatric institute, each of the artworks operates as an interface; a portal into futures not yet realised or realities otherwise obscured. Inspired by innovative ways of thinking about technological tools, the Centre provides a context in which artists, technologists, and audiences can come together to uncover new frontiers of artistic expression and redefine what it means to be human in the digital age.
