Melkweg’s monthly discovery program RADAR returns with a special ADE edition. On Thursday the 17th of October, we welcome a line-up of authentic artists from multiple genres, each incorporating electronic sounds in their own right.
Vieze Meisje (Dutch for Dirty Girl) is the singing, performing and all-encompassing second self of mortal Maya Mertens. Her quirky poetry is heartwarmingly honest, hilariously funny and brutally elegant. She makes use of acrobatic beats, loops and sounds that turn any deconstructive dance party into a well-sounding chaos. Once you have heard/seen Vieze Meisje, you are forever part of life’s Dirty Circle.
De Witte Kunst is a Dutch music group consisting of multi-instrumentalist Lyckle de Jong and writer/singer Koen van Bommel. Their songs are about dreams of a better world, the fear of being touched and how to create a place for yourself in this chaotic world. The result is a manifesto that raises questions rather than answers them. The listener may very well find themselves in a state of confusion. Duly noted!
Klankspoor is a modular techno project by drummer Quinten de Jongh (The Hague). Using modular synthesis, and inspired by artists such as Florian Meindl, Julia Bondar and Robthebloke, Klankspoor’s music includes deep bass lines, rhythmic patterns and evolving melodies. Each performance focuses on a unique experience for the audience, playing everything live without any pre-programming.
