New composers meet 20th century legend on November 16th at the Schoenberg Special concerts presented by Muziekgebouw, the awe-inspiring legacy of Arnold Schoenberg is given an ode.
Genius, innovator, iconoclast: Arnold Schoenberg was it all. Without him, music history would have looked completely different. A pioneer of atonality and inventor of the twelve-tone technique, Schoenberg profoundly influenced entire generations of composers. Remembering his genius, internationally renowned string quartet Quatuor Diotima will breathe new life into three unique compositions: Schönberg’s iconic Third String Quartet, the legendary Lyric Suite by Alban Berg and the new and very first string quartet by Bram Kortekaas, one of the most interesting Dutch composers of his generation.
Program:
Arnold Schoenberg String Quartet No. 3
