Embark on a journey through Loraine James’ sonic evolution with her third album, “Gentle Confrontation,” released on the iconic British label Hyperdub. In this album, Loraine invites us into a new chapter of her real and sonic life, delving into her past and present. Described as the record a teenage Loraine would have loved to create, its musical tendencies harken back to that time. Loraine’s previous Hyperdub albums, “For You & I” and “Reflection,” were lauded for their vital narratives, accurately portraying her reality as an independent queer, Black, British artist.Our friends over at Muziekgebouw have been kind enough to offer a few seats for free for Subbacultcha members.
