life is beautiful is a gesamtkunstwerk founded by aloisius, including a collective of 8: NWAKKE, Abi Asisa, Jasper Maurice, Samara Langham, Bianca Scout, THE NARRATOR, Isaiah Hull & aloisius, as well as encompassing a record label.

life is beautiful frequently perform at venues such as Cafe OTO & Ormside Projects, creating improvisation-based performances (together or in various combinations) encompassing dance/ movement, poetry, performance art, storytelling, music/ sound art & visual art (such as painting & AV works). 

The label has released artists from the collective as well as a few associated artists from the life is beautiful orbit, via white label vinyls, cassette tapes, cd’s, ipods & digital, and a series of happenings that have featured artists DJ SPANISH FLY, Slauson Malone 1, Novelist, John Glacier, Pretty V, Jadasea, Lord Tusk and James Massiah, among others.

aloisius

aloisius is an improvisation-based artist and founder of the gesamtkunstwerk ‘life is beautiful’. via life is beautiful, he frequently organises diy happenings across London, showcasing various artists from various art forms such as: performance art, poetry, music, dance/movement & visual arts. over the past 10 years aloisius has been prolifically performing, organising performances, creating art and facilitating the creation of art in various ways. he has collaborated with artists such as Pretty V, James Massiah, Lolina, DJ Spanish Fly & Cities Aviv., 

Bianca Scout

Bianca Scout is an experimental artist with a background in contemporary and classical dance whose work combines movement and storytelling through surreal soundscapes and dance as communication.

Her music is radically intuitive with a disregard to genre standards or conventional form; words, sound and movement existing as a fantastical sublimation of her seemingly endless personal archives of the stories, dreams and questions which make up her internal to outer world.

jasper maurice

chainsaw gtar breaks the drum kit apart in an effort to imitate “the sound a firework makes before it Explodes.”

ABI ASISA

Abi Asisa is an electroacoustic cellist and improviser based in London.

THE NARRATOR is a multidisciplinary visual and immersive experience artist, musician, and writer exploring the healing power of sensory storytelling.

NWAKKE

NWAKKE is an artist, dancer and DJ working with sound, writing and performance. Through multi-genre songwriting and production, soundscape creation and improvisation, NWAKKE seeks to craft deep listening experiences that speak to emotional honesty, bodily sensation and storytelling. 

Samara Langham

Samara Langham is a London based dancer, choreographer, musician and artist. She explores sensation and texture through movement and sound across dance theatre and interdisciplinary contexts. Her quality is mothlike – transparent and potent. 

Samara has worked with Holly Blakey, Blackhaine, Sharon Eyal, Botis Seva and Magnus Westwell.

Isaiah Hull
