LENZ: Sheath and Knife (Schede en Mes)

16 February - Frascati, Amsterdam
21:00 - €15 - Free for members

From February 16th to 18th, Frascati Producties presents ‘Sheath and Knife (Schede en Mes)‘ by theatre cooperation LENZ, consisting of Erasmus Mackenna, Marit Hooijschuur and Roel Pronk. The performance orbits through intergenerational trauma, class, self-determination, Scottish murder ballads, and ever-turning love triangles. Subbacultcha members get free access to the performance on February 16th (limited spots).

“The young lovers Ciara and Henry Dochtery dream of a life in the city, far away from the claustrophobia and violence of the rural Scottish community they grew up in. In silence, they prepare their escape, but when Ciara becomes pregnant, she starts to ask herself whether her idea of freedom matches that of her lover. Eventually, after unexpected oppression and multiple attempts to find a way out, an ultimatum emerges: love, or emancipation? Both is impossible.” The performance finds inspiration in Scottish-Irish murder ballads and folk, drone and doom band not unlike SunnO))) and Lankum.

Tickets for Sheath and Knife can be purchased here. There are a limited amount of free tickets for Subbacultcha members. Members can make a reservation by sending an email to mailinglist@subbacultcha.nl with ‘Sheath and Knife’ in the subject line + your name in the email.

Please note: the spoken language in Sheath and Knife is Dutch, but the performance on the 16th is subtitled in English.
