Lady Overdrive
Close the doors! Lady Overdrive is coming to your city! Born from her grandmother’s demons, Lady Overdrive is the new alter ego of artist and musician Una Jongenelis (My Purse, Yodel Queen), developed as part of the VERVERS residency at Cinetol. Lady Overdrive sings about the bottom of the past and the monsters of the present.

Plus Instruments
Plus Instruments is the brainchild of Truus de Groot. Born in Eindhoven and living between the US and the Netherlands, with the Netherlands currently serving as their home base. Truus de Groot has been an unsung hero within the experimental and underground music scene for decades. She is often called the “Queen of the Dutch Underground.”

Since 1978, she has been the curator of Plus Instruments: a project that has inspired innovation within the world of electronic music, in collaboration with a wide range of collaborators.

Byinoar

Jaap van der Velde (also known from The Homesick) creates experimental choral pop music under the name Byinoar. Using a vocoder, effects, loopers, and a cheap microphone, he creates a sound that resembles budget Enya on steroids, or as if football hooligans are singing folk songs from the future.

Boris de Klerk and Camiel Muiser play an improvised set with guitar, drums, and electronics, possibly with a hidden cover here and there…

VERVERS curated nights
This event takes place as part of VERVERS, Cinetol’s interdisciplinary residency. During these curated nights, the residents invite artists and makers who inspire and influence them within their creative process during the residency. Expect an evening where music, performance, and other art forms come together, and where the residents offer a glimpse into the sources of inspiration, collaborations, and experiments that shape their development within VERVERS. A pass partout ticket is also available for these evenings. It costs €17 and provides access to all four curated nights on June 19, 25, and 26, and July 10.
