Kiko Dinucci, 3 & Mavi Veloso

Amsterdam Roots Festival and BIMHUIS have curated a line-up, focused on new sounds, fused with traditional music from Brazil. On the 2nd of July they welcome Kiko Dinucci, 3, Mavi Veloso and DJ Marcos Tocae. A triple line-up, shifting lenses on genres, styles and sounds.

Kiko Dinucci

You might have caught Kiko Dinucci on Le Guess Who last year: “a performer of smoldering, arcane intensity.” His latest record is an avant-garde dedication to the guitar. On Rastilho, Kiko soars through Samba, Afoxé and Avant-Folk, but also makes his nylon strings scream out punk riffs.

‘3’ is the new musical project of guitarist João Pires’, singer Dandara Modesto’s and percussionist Juninho Ibituruna.

Mavi Veloso

Mavi Veloso is a performer, a singer, an actress, a dancer and a visual artist, “commenting, celebrating and questioning gender technologies, notions of identity, sexuality, placement and displacement.” At the end of the night, Mavi will perform in BIMHUIS’s cafe, presenting her latest project TRAVESTI BIOLÓGICA.
