Wondering what to catch at ADE this year? London’s experimental producer and poet John Glacier will be performing at Melkweg as part of their ADE program on the 16th of October!
Rising from the London underground scene, John Glacier first introduced her sound as an exciting blend of rap, punk and electro. Her debut album “SHILOH” features stream of consciousness style lyricism accompanied by hazy low-fi beats. Her lyrics reflect an honest humor and personality, showcasing Glacier’s willingness to be vulnerable and her skillful use of tongue-in-cheek pop culture references (“I’m a glacier, that’s why I look so deadly”). Her newest release “Like A Ribbon” was born from a desire to make music that is more laid back, stripped and upbeat. Contrasting the intimate vulnerability of her debut, Glacier reflects more confidently on her sound, making her place known on the scene (“Best believe it, I’m the hottest in the game”).
