Jack J

Canadian pop-rock artist Jack J embarks on his Europe tour, taking the stage at Cinetol on December 3rd.

Jack J is a pop-rock musician and producer from Vancouver. He is half of DJ and production duo Pender Street Steppers and a founding member of the Mood Hut collective and record label. His debut album Opening the Door was released in Spring 2022 to positive reviews/features on Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, and Bandcamp. Following two tours in 2023, Jack returned to his Vancouver studio in the winter to finish a new LP. The record continues the refined pop explorations that were only scratched the surface on Opening the Door and made more apparent on 2023’s single “Foolish Man”; the 12-string electric guitar jabs recall early Primal Scream, the echoing dream dub recalls AR Kane, but also a sharp pop sensibility built around effortless hooks and bittersweet, otherworldly lyrics.
