Golin presents “sensor” + Iceboy Violet (live)

We are thrilled to announce that on December 7th, Golin will perform her debut album “sensor” with Ivan Cheng on clarinet, joined by the hypnotic & ever experimental Iceboy Violet doubling the bill at Dokzaal. Let them hold you(r hand) this evening…

Golin‘s first LP, sensor, will be performed through a live electro-acoustic performance with piano and electronics. The album departs from glitch compositional palette of previous releases and centers Golin as a composer and producer, expanding her outputs from EDM oriented productions into electro-acoustic compositions. Trained as a classical pianist, Golin uses piano as an other-voice to duet and converse with her past selves, memories and surroundings. On this evening, artist and performer Ivan Cheng joins on clarinet in a guest appearance.

Iceboy Violet is treating us to their Amsterdam debut. Their work searches for personal and collective catharsis through motive vocal based performance, using physicality as a point of connection. Drawing from raw experimental club music, tinges of warped pop abstraction, rap and performance art. They have a vision of rap music which is according to Resident Advisor “strikingly individual: vivid, adventurous and laced with anxiety, fragility and fluidity.” On December 7th, Iceboy will strike you with hypnotic and abrasive bars (The Fader) and emotional punches in the gut (The Quietus).

Golin is the solo moniker of artist, composer, singer, producer, Rin Suemitsu. While her previous releases Momo (Midlife, 2017), Fushigi (Genome 6.66Mbp, 2018), Crush (Twin, 2020) pushed the boundaries of J-pop, EDM, rave, her upcoming release and debut LP sensor centers her as a composer and producer, expanding her outputs from EDM oriented productions into experimental, ambient and electro-acoustic compositions. Her debut LP sensor will be released on November 22nd, 2024.
