Corecore x Toverberg Labelnight

AMS & BXL link up! ᑕ𝕆𝕣𝕖𝐂ᗝ𝓡ᗴ + Ť𝔬𝕧乇я๒𝑒я join forces for a label night on October 11th, at the Nieuwe Anita.

This night brings together the two communities, centering the showcase of new releases from Toverburg. On the bill we have Poppy Whispers and Lucile Strike, who are a duo of sound and visual researchers. They practice off-road wandering, setting off on adventures with their bellies on fire. Next up, SUNCHASER who is not entirely loyal to any genre, instead embracing shimmering and free-floating sounds and chases those sonic dreams, into the distance… Finally, nykolaes and Daniël Paul who bring soft-spoken songs that combine guitar and electronic elements with a tender vocal performance, sometimes autotuned, sometimes out of tune. Closing the night with a b2b with corecore & Toverburg dj’s.

Toverberg is an event organiser as well as a label. They are focused on breaking down the traditions of the music industry, while keeping an eye on a playful and experimental sound-direction. This has led them to dive into a sound ranging from folk to trap, from flamenco to shoegaze.

corecore is a collective and online platform for sharing and understanding the sonics of cyber-culture with a special attention towards the relationship between identity, community, and embodied affect in the realm of the so-called “virtual”. corecore interrogates the bleeding edge between “cyberspace” and “real life” through their Discord server and events. The project is run by Callum Dean, Jan-Pieter ‘t Hart and Tjobo Kho.
