Cellist, singer and composer CTM will give a special concert during Aural Spaces on Thursday 12 December using advanced, spatial 4DSOUND technology. A breathtaking listening experience with an open, poetic atmosphere. Danish cellist, singer and composer Cæcilie Trier, aka CTM (short for Cæcilie Trier Musik), bridges different musical styles with chillingly beautiful, penetrating results.
CTM – Cæcilie Trier
Cæcilie Trier’s roots lie in the bustling Copenhagen music scene where Iceage, Puce Mary and Andreas Führer also come from. Trier is a much sought-after session musician all over the world – she has worked with artists as diverse as Dean Blunt, Trentemøller and Marching Church. CTM is equally at home in the worlds of classical, film music, experimental pop and electronica. At times her music sounds intimate and familiar, but the unexpected twist and glitchy disruption are always lurking, which can suddenly change the level of tension. The combination of resonant melodies, pop sensibility and bleed-edge improvisation creates a poetic and open atmosphere.
Trier’s career is brimming with praise, especially for her album Suite For A Young Girl, which was nominated for the prestigious Nordic Music Prize in 2017. Followed by the critically acclaimed album Red dragon (Posh Isolation, 2018), the album Celeste by the duo Trier/Rosenbaum (Posh Isolation, 2021), the album Babygirl (Posh Isolation, 2022). CMT’s most recent album Vind (15 love, 2023), consists of 12-part solo cello compositions, produced by Jakob Littauer.
This concert is commissioned by Concertvrienden, Entrée and 4DSOUND. Supported and coproduced by MONOM.
Aural Spaces
This concert is part of the Aural Spaces festival. From 12 to 15 December, a new dimension will be added to the live music experience in the Recital Hall of The Concertgebouw. The familiar red plush chairs will make way for a 4DSOUND installation, consisting of 13 pillars with 41 speakers. Classical acoustic methods are combined with the modern technology of 4DSOUND, further expanding the possibilities of sound experience.
Aural Spaces explores the boundaries between sound and space, blurring them and merging them. The result is a completely immersive listening experience that’s all too rare. Discover and feel how the music moves through space!
