For over twenty years, the American band Grails has been grinding, experimenting, and surprising with instrumental rock that defies categorization. Their new album, Miracle Music, is their most personal yet. On Saturday, March 7th, at Patronaat, they’ll take you on a journey where post-rock, krautrock, and psychedelia collide. Support comes from De Mond, a Brussels duo that creates experimental/percussive electronica. Think tape loops, hypnotic synths, and deep drums.
Grails is known as one of the most idiosyncratic and adventurous instrumental rock bands. What began in the early 2000s has grown into a catalog where every album sounds completely different: from the haunting atmosphere of The Burden of Hope and the dark power of Doomsdayer’s Holiday to the cinematic grandeur of Deep Politics and Anches En Maat.
De Mond is a Brussels-based duo consisting of Stijn Wybouw and Arno De Bock. Using tape loops, hypnotic synths, and deep drums, they build raw, percussive electronica tracks that, live, morph into trance and noise. Their debut album, Glow, was released in 2024 on Futura Resistenza.
