TEXTURES w/ dj serko, lance laoyan (live), knee deep in custard

24 July - Cinetol, Amsterdam
€15-€17

Textures is a new event series presenting groundbreaking experimental electronic music from Amsterdam. After a sold-out edition in January, Textures returns with a new line-up of three artists who immerse you in deep layers of ambient textures, soundscapes, field recordings, and live instruments.

‍Knee Deep In Custard
‍Knee Deep In Custard is a music and performance duo that combines live vocals, piano, bass, and electronic compositions, usually with projected visuals. Their signature approach consists of projections onto a thin screen in front of them, while they perform behind the screen and remain almost invisible.

They walk around with pebbles in their shoes and a grin on their faces. Hmmm… let’s just say we sound like memories from our past, a funny walk, or tears falling on the piano.

DJ Serko‍

Serge Stork, better known as DJ Serko, is a DJ and producer from Amsterdam. Over the years in the club scene, he has developed a broad musical taste, from downtempo to techno and everything in between. With a deep love and inspiration for old-school music, he incorporates vinyl he has collected over the years into every set. As the founder of Auris Listening Sessions, he puts together carefully curated lineups that bring people from the underground scene together in a non-judgmental environment, where the focus is more on listening than on the artists themselves. In recent years, he has also started producing his own music. His work consists of sample- and sound design-based productions, rooted in ambient and other experimental styles.

Lance Laoyan (live) of nature in cities

Lance Laoyan is a sound artist and designer based in the Netherlands. His work explores sonic ecologies within natural and urban environments. Laoyan investigates these site-specific environments through an interdisciplinary approach, based on practices from field philosophy, listening methodologies, poetry, and experimental field recording. During Textures, Laoyan performs a live set based on his recent work around Water Bodies in Rotterdam for onic [of nature in cities], a field recording label he co-founded in 2026, based between The Hague and Berlin.
