ArtRocks for Musicians

How does an artwork sound? Can paintings be translated into songs? Yes they can. To get you inspired, we’re giving away free tickets for your band, including 5 museums of choice. Let that be the first step to being part of ArtRocks 2016!

ArtRocks is the annual music competition that unites music and visual arts. Musicians are challenged to get inspired by 50 iconic pieces of art, that are all part of the most important museums of The Netherlands: Boijmans Van Beuningen Rotterdam, Kröller-Müller Museum Otterlo, Drents Museum Assen, Tropenmuseum Amsterdam and Museum Het Valkhof Nijmegen.

Who’s it for? Every type of band or solo musician can take part in ArtRocks, as long as songs are fully self-made, and of course the piece should be inspired by one of the 50 artworks. During a couple of museum nights spread throughout November and December you (and your band) can perform your act, and maybe you get selected to take part of the final in Paradiso. We’re giving musicians the chance to get inspired by giving away tickets to witness art, nation-wide. For information on the competition, check here.
