FAKA

We’re thrilled to have the Johannesburg duo Fela Gucci and Desire Marea, known under the collective moniker of FAKA, to join us for a mini-tour around the Netherlands. For one of the stops along the way, we’ve teamed up with PIP, our favourite venue in the capital Den Haag, to show FAKA a glimpse of what this country can offer 🙂 You may or may not have caught FAKA in our magazine’s latest issue as well as on Mykki Blanco’s documentary for i-D; this creative duo sure is something. FAKA are a multi-media project mixing music, fashion, photography, writing, and much more striving to make a positive change in South Africa, while defending black queer culture through art. We promise you a show that’ll blow you away. Using gqom -the bass-heavy South-African genre – in combination with their performance on stage, FAKA are a piece of art. FAKA be hitting up the following cities: Rotterdam, Utrecht, and Amsterdam. Warm up your feet, ’cause they’ll be getting a lot of action.
