FAKA

10 November - WORM, Rotterdam
22.00 - Free for all

Along with our friends at WORM and Pantropical, we’re delighted to bring an intriguing night of non-binary visions and gqom and the concept of “nivea-ness”; all the way from Johannesburg. Fela Gucci and Desire Marea, known under the collective moniker of FAKA, will join us for a mini-tour around the Netherlands. WORM, in Rotterdam, is the duo’s second stop around the country, showing them another gem of the Dutch underground scene. You may or may not have caught them in our magazine’s latest issue as well as on Mykki Blanco’s documentary for i-D; this creative duo is something unique you shouldn’t miss live. FAKA are a multi-media project mixing music, fashion, photography, writing, and much more striving to make a positive change in South Africa, while defending black queer culture through art. Together with WORM, we promise you a show that’ll blow you away. Using gqom -the bass-heavy South-African genre – in combination with their performance on stage, FAKA are a unique piece of art you should add to your discoveries. After firing up the stages of PIP and Performance Bar, FAKA will conquer Utrecht and Amsterdam the next day. Warm up your feet, ’cause it’ll be hard to stay still.
