Ahead of their performance at Front Row Festival, we talked about manliness, motorbikes and breakdance with 155.
Ploegendienst is a hardcore punk supergroup, hailing from Amsterdam. Bastiaan from Aux Raus and MICH on bass, Michiel from Firestone on guitar, Bram from Adolf Butler and Malle Pietje en de Bimbo’s on drums and Ray Fuego from the DIY hip-hop collective SMIB screaming his brains out on vocals. The self-proclaimed ‘100% anti-everything’ band waves their collective middle finger in the air, calling back to the hardcore heyday when Black Flag and Bad Brains were tearing it all down. The music is as messy as it gets, but it’s performed with high momentum and chokingly tight performances. After shutting down stages all over the country, Ploegendienst is finally releasing their first EP on the SMIB label, and we have the pleasure to host the release party. Featuring performances of Richie Dagger, The Young Ones, Pauper and Dj Cholesteroy, this will be a relentless night.
