In collaboration with Muziekgebouw aan de Ring and De School, we’re ready to celebrate the return of Berlin-based electronic empress Laurel Halo. Dust, Halo’s third album released last June on Hyperdub, breaks with everything we’ve heard before: it’s a more positive project with grooving acoustic percussion, piano chords and woozy synths. And then combine all that with multiple vocals. Dust breaks in like a supernova with no point of reference to pin it down to a single genre. Through the music, we enter Halo’s universe made of collaborations, electronic sounds and both individual as well as collective experiences helping us to let go of all fears and anxieties.
