Gone from washing dirty dishes to playing Dirty Beaches, Alex Zhang Hungtai’s musical output stretches across genres from art rock, ambience, experimental pop to jazz. Taiwan-born, North America-raised, Alex Zhang Hungtai’s nomadic life is as floating as his musical endeavors. Aside from Dirty Beaches and his current self-titled solo project, the man’s behind Last Lizard, Love Theme, and made a cameo appearance in an episode of last year’s Twin Peaks, playing in the fictional band Trouble. You know that song, ‘Snake Eyes’, right? Needless to say, we’re honored to be teaming up with Muziekgebouw, The Rest is Noise and De School to have him over. Support comes from Amsterdam’s own Circular Ruins. Oceanic (Nous’klaer, De School) will play music in between the concerts.
