Texas-born but Baltimore-based Jana Hunter is a star in the making. She’s been an experimentalist around the indie scene for a while, but Lower Dens is the best example of her songwriting starting to crystalise. Here it combines the spacious dark ambience of Grouper with the melancholic pop instincts of Wye Oak.
