Loom

27 June - OT301, Amsterdam
20.00 - €12 - Free for members

Subbacultcha and We Are Public present Loom: a recurring (on- and offline) program that weaves together a multitude of creative disciplines. Theatre, performance art, music, talks, visual arts, DJ sets, you name it.

For this year’s first event, on June 27th in OT301, we have invited Frö, Simomo Bouj, Bin Koh and baby ganoush. Simomo Bouj is a dancer, choreographer and curator who “moves, moves others, and is moved by others.” Frö makes experimental electronics with haunting vocals, “from femme-folk to post-internet information-overload.” Her fascination lies in the voice as the body’s given instrument, one we always carry with us. Bin Koh is a visual artist who plays with “dominant ways of seeing and seeks to capture and appropriate these gazes for her own means.” For this edition of Loom, Koh created the visual outings. baby ganoush will DJ before, between and after performances. The experimental DJ and visual artist serves “tears in the club and intelligent butt music”.

In 2024, Loom will house 5 events, coinciding with talks, releases and a publication. To wrap it all up, we’ll host ‘Loom XL’ at the bookend of the year. “Ginning, opening, cleaning, combing, drawing, spinning, winding, warping, sizing and beaming.”

For this edition, Frö will create brand-new work, which will be gifted to all Subbacultcha and We Are Public members as Loom Release: Loom001. Expect the work in your inboxes right after the event has taken place.

Loom is free for Subbacultcha and We Are Public members.
