Yulya Divakova + slowblink

On October 30, VERVERS 2026 residents Yulya Divakova and George Demetriou present their work, the result of research and experiments they developed during their residency.

Yulya Divakova
Yulya presents a solo set based on samples, vocals, synthesizers, and live mixing. Their work connects structural clarity, acoustic detail, and spontaneous sonic architecture. Built from a library of recorded samples, live vocals, and analog synthesis, Yulya’s performances reject fixed arrangements in favor of fluid movement. This performance marks the highlight of their residency and presents a work-in-progress in which they explore what it is like to be together with the audience and to compose live.

slowblink
In keeping with the band’s tradition of inviting guest musicians for every live show, the experimental trio slowblink (formerly a quartet) is joined during this show by Alek Kurniawan (Mangruv) on drums and electronics. Post-rock songwriting meets contemporary chamber music and analog noise. Using analog feedback, digital manipulation of acoustic instruments, cassettes, and droning guitars, slowblink creates dense, layered sound masses that form the basis for the raw and direct melodies of their sung verses.
