During their two-month residency at The Art Department Goof Kloosterman and Hannah Carpenter examined the tools and languages used in time-based media, creating a multi-layered installation. They focused on questioning cinema and theater, suspending the different moments of the creative process by extracting the parts and dividing them over several spaces. Placing the importance not on the actual outcome of a production, but on the various elements connected to the creation of a screenplay, and turning the focus on the makings of a film rather than what it’s about.

Aimed towards the investigation of its own function, the installation repurposes and revalues the different elements within the context of the visual arts where the visitor ultimately forms the completing component, playing an equal part within the mechanism of the installation.

The exhibition [indistinctive voices in the background] opens on March 25 from 18.00 till 21.00.
