The Dutch film by Marijn Frank is a documentary revolving around the director’s own addictive relationship with meat. In the attempt to understand and recognize fully her dependency on meat, Frank retrieves an internship in a slaughterhouse and pays a visit to a flock of 100.000 chickens. Through facing the meat in the eye she hopes to build a healthier relationship with what’s usually found on her plate. The film plunges through feelings from emotional to comic; in the end, it all boils down to animal rights, lust and hypocrisy. The documentary will be screened with English subtitles.
