Film: Dick el Demasiado

Dick Verdult a.k.a. Dick El Demasiado is an Eindhoven-based multi-talent, who has been making art and music for decades. Dick currently focuses on the art of Cumbia music, has gained a cult following, and is seen as the last ‘Dada-ist’.

Together with Kriterion, we gift you the screening of It Is True But Not Here – a 2017 documentary about Dick Verdult, by director Luuk Bouwman. We’ve presented the movie before and came to the conclusion that it’s too good not to screen it again. Aside from displaying Dick’s mind-altering art and unorthodox perspective, the documentary reveals a myriad of social and political issues, relevant to our times. And behold: the documentary will be followed by a live-set of the protagonist Dick el Demasiado himself.
