In collaboration with Molk Factory, we’re hosting claire rousay and Ben Boye on May 23rd at Dokzaal.
claire rousay is a singular artist, known for challenging conventions in experimental and ambient music forms. rousay masterfully incorporates textural found sounds, sumptuous drones and candid field recordings into music that celebrates the beauty in life’s banalities. Her music is curatorial and granular in detail, deftly shaped into emotionally affecting pieces. With deep ties to Chicago, Ben Boye is an elusive L.A. musical figure whose presence is quietly known among the independent music culture in the United States. His contributions are subtle yet integral to dozens of widely acclaimed recordings over the last decade. He is a musician’s musician who’s gorgeous, contemplative approach to sound is both delicate and powerful. He will be presenting his first solo debut in Europe with claire (on chromatic autoharp, piano and electronics).
Molk Factory is an artist-run platform with room and facilities for experimentation, interdisciplinary collaborations and social commitment. In their unique church hall de Dokzaal, they create space for musically innovative projects and transform it to a multimedia meeting place.
