Blouse + Eraas

29 November

ERAAS’ post-rock rocketship transports listeners to a dark, lonely world nearly devoid of human emotion but filled with ominous atmosphere, propelled forward by the occasional motorik groove. But before you kiss this cruel world goodbye, see if it might be worth it after all with a dose of dreamy pop from Portland trio Blouse.

ERAAS’s 2012 debut was like a post-rock rocketship which transported listeners to a dark, lonely world nearly devoid of human emotion but filled with ominous atmosphere, propelled forward by the occasional motorik groove. But before you kiss this cruel world goodbye, see if it might be worth it after all with a dose of dreamy pop from Portland trio Blouse. Like their Captured Track labelmates Widowspeak, Blouse feature some pretty seductively narcotic female vocals, but atop a backdrop that’s more somber and ’80s synth-focused. While their influences have been quite fashionable for the past few years, their catchy melodies and Charlie Hilton’s beautifully melancholic delivery set them apart from the crowd.
