Muscut (est. 2012, Kyiv) – is a label focused on modern avant-garde Eastern European artists (Chillera, Pavel Milyakov, Mlin Patz, Bryozone, Indirect etc.) and ‘pseudo and practical audio archaeology’.
Nicola Ratti is a multifaceted musician and sound designer renowned for his innovative work in experimental sound. His creations are built on repetition and expansion, crafting immersive environments that interact with space and architecture, shaping our emotional and perceptual experiences. Born in Milan in 1978, Ratti has performed across Europe, North America, Russia, and Japan, with numerous albums released since 2006. Beyond his solo career, he collaborates on projects like Bellows, NR/MA, and What We Do When in Silence, was one of the co-founders and members of Standards, and he is also a professor of Sound Space Design at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
Nikolaienko is a Ukrainian sound artist currently based in Tallinn, Estonia. Known for his innovative use of outdated musical gear, he crafts tape and cassette loops to create intricate sound collages. His recent album “Rings” (2021), released on Jan Jelinek’s Faitiche label, exemplifies this approach. He has also released music on labels like 12th Isle, Graphical, Porridge Bullet, Kvitnu, Nexsound, and Muscut. Beyond his solo endeavors, Dmytro Nikolaienko is the founder of Muscut and co-founder of Shukai.
