M.E.S.H. – Thorium

In anticipation of debut full length Piteous Gate dropping next week, M.E.S.H. just went and put out one of the tracks featured on it… ahead of time! That’s right, the Berlin-based producer and Janus affiliate actually went so far as to have an album track digitally released via the music streaming platform Soundcloud, uploaded onto the account of the highly acclaimed PAN label, in effect pre-empting the forecasted actual release of the album on July 17th. Given that we’re still reeling from his bestowing another tune unto our all too willing ears in the form of ‘Epithet’ not too long ago, I think you’ll agree our incredulity is entirely justified. Apologies for wasting the space above marvelling at the disseminative capacity of online audio distribution mediums  – the point is, ‘Thorium’ is real cool; ramshackle rhythmic elements, abstracted unpredictable melodic intrusions and a submerged synth pad all MESHED together to disorienting and wholly intriguing effect.
