Keita Sano – Search

We’ve let our eyes wander the past couple of months and with that accidentally let our finger off the 1080p pulse. Silly really, ’cause the Vancouver-based tape label hasn’t let up for even a second, steadfastly committed to its outpouring of all manner of electronic oddities from around the world. In the first few months of 2015, 1080p has mined no less than nine straight-to-tape gems, adding a tenth next Tuesday with the release of Okayama-based producer Keita Sano’s Holding New Cards. While the 70-minute tape is a smattering of genres from house to footwork to dub and back, album standout “Search” is hefty cross-pollinated reggae jam backed by a meaty drum.
