Consisting of Demon’s Claws frontman Jeff Clarke, and touting members who have played in the likes of King Khan and the Shrines, Bloodshot Bill and CPC Gangbangs, Hellshovel brings country-tinged psych-terror jams, with a clear Spaghetti Western vibe, reminding one of the moment just before terrible gunfire rattles, shattering the uncanny silence. If you like your psychedelic rock served a little different – in this case heavily manipulated and sometimes even as greatly distorted as the Mount Everest’s little brothers are high – than Brooklyn- and Colorado-based trio Woodsman’s groovy and epic tunes might just be your thing.
