Described as “the hardest working scumbags in New York City,” industrial punk group Pop. 1280 got started in 2009 in Brooklyn; by 2010 the band was signed onto the unceasingly rewarding Sacred Bones label. It seems only natural that a band whose sound is furnished with dark electronics and punk influences finds its’ name after Jim Thompson’s crime novel, a nod of acknowledgement to a small Texas county under the control of a murderous sheriff. Paralympics will support the night with aggressive rock from Amsterdam.
