Maria W Horn

5 June - Orgelpark, Amsterdam
€12,50-20

The Orgelpark’s three-day artistic research symposium on ‘situational musicking’ celebrates its second day tonight with a concert featuring Maria W Horn. She works as artist-in-residence at the Orgelpark, and presents tonight her approach of the Orgelpark’s instruments, including no less than eight pipe organs, two grand pianos, and an art harmonium.

Maria W Horn combines spectralist techniques and site specific source material in order to explore the inherent memories of buildings, objects or areas. In her recent compositions she uses acoustic artifacts from physical spaces to create musical frameworks for her compositions. Using these acoustic imprints as a starting point Maria weaves intricate harmonic patterns that slowly transform from intimate fragility to searing high-density aural monoliths.

The people at Orgelpark have kindly offered a very limited amount of free tickets for Subbacultcha members. Please make a reservation by sending an email to mailinglist@subbacultcha.nl with ‘Maria W Horn’ in the subject line + your name in the email.

Registrations are open until 12PM on weekdays.
