Just as lead single ‘The Lord’s Favorite’ made us guess, Elias Bender Rønnenfelt & co have adopted a whole new sound on their brand new Plowing Into The Field Of Love LP. This shouldn’t be a complete surprise, since You’re Nothing, the 2013 follow-up to their 2011 debut New Brigade, already showed a more refined take on their raunchy and passionate post-punk. But still, the leap from the initial furiously dark sound to the present alternative rock vibe that sometimes reminds of Nick Cave, is pretty big. But don’t be fooled: singing ‘Whatever I do, I don’t repent. I’ll keep pissing against the moon’, Elias is still the angry Dane you got to know three years ago.
