DaughterDaughter is a new quartet of four musicians who have each carved out a distinct place on the European jazz scene in recent years. Together they create collectively composed music built around strong melodies and clear structures, interspersed with more abstract passages, leaving ample room for improvisation and each player’s individual voice.
Saxophonist Amalie Dahl built an impressive reputation from Oslo with her quintet Dafnie, winning a Danish Music Award Jazz in 2024. Argentinian Camila Nebbia, originally from Buenos Aires and based in Berlin, was described by Jazz PT magazine as “an essential saxophonist of our time” and has received multiple nominations for the German Jazz Prize. Cellist Elisabeth Coudoux, based in Cologne, has long worked at the intersection of free improvisation, new music and jazz, developing a distinctive voice as both soloist and ensemble leader. Drummer Sun-Mi Hong, based in Amsterdam, won the SENA Dutch Jazz Competition and received an Edison Award for her album A Self-Strewn Portrait.
