Motel Mozaïque Presents
Colin Stetson might be one of biggest saxophone players of our times, and he has blessed countless indie bands with his virtuosity. Mentioning the saxophone often leads to jokes and conjures up visions of Bill Clinton or Kenny G. But the beauty about saxophones is that, if played by the right mouth, they’re instruments that can cry, howl and wail. They can invoke a feeling similar to the facial expression of those playing it, a kind of beautiful agony, where cheeks are stretched, foreheads glisten with sweat and faces become red through sheer exertion. And if that saxophone is played by Stetson, well, just prepare for your heart to be permanently broken and your soul to be ripped into a million pieces.
