The Orgelpark’s three-day artistic research symposium on ‘situational musicking’ includes a turntabling session tonight with NikNak: she will bring her own records, but also spin a few from the Orgelpark’s one – which are rather straightforward organ LP’s. Let’s turn the Orgelpark’s space into a proper club!
NikNak is based in Leeds, and is not only a turntablist, but also a producer, composer, sound artist, promoter, radio presenter, podcaster, sound‑engineer and audio editor . She is celebrated for her dynamic sets that blend genres with fluid scratching and intuitive mixing, earning praise from international, national and local press, and fellow artists . She won the Oram Award in 2020, and the Pop‑Experimental Award at the Gigahertz Festival in 2025. Her work continues to push the boundaries of what turntables can do, merging live improvisation with spatial electronic production.
The people at 4DSOUND and Orgelpark have kindly offered a very limited amount of free tickets for Subbacultcha members. Please make a reservation by sending an email to mailinglist@subbacultcha.nl with ‘4DSound: Turntabling – Niknak’ in the subject line + your name in the email.
Registrations are open until 12PM on weekdays.
