Luke Hess

Born in 1980 in Metro Detroit and subject to the city’s mid-90’s warehouse parties, Luke Hess has harnessed a deep appreciation for electronic music and the expression of the underground movement. His background in mathematics and engineering has given him a scientific approach to the dance-floor, using frequencies, tones, and soundscapes to transform surroundings and mood.

Luke’s faith based music production landed him a seat with Omar S’ FXHE label & Carl Craig’s Planet-e label in Detroit. Hess has celebrated original productions and remix material on labels such as DeepLabs, FXHE, Planet-e, Dolly, Motech, Rekids, Echocord, Kontra-Music, Modelisme, Ornaments, Echocord Colour, & more. In 2009, Luke released his first album, “Light in the Dark” on Denmark-based record label, Echocord. “Light in the Dark” received glowing reviews and was hailed by many as one of the best deep techno albums of the year. His second artist album “Keep On” was release on CD in 2012 and on 2×12″ vinyl in 2013 and received a superb score of 4.5/5 & recommended review on Resident Advisor.

Remma

Remma organized raves from a young age and established the DIY station, ITMOTR Radio, which has played a significant role in shaping the music culture of the outer Eastern corner of the Netherlands. Influenced by the deeper side of house and techno, as well as the free party movement from his own region, Remma has developed a distinct artistic vision. At the core of his work lies the pursuit of a club experience in which rhythm, sound, and narrative converge into a compelling whole.

Sarkawt Hamad

Sarkawt Hamad is a DJ whose sets strike a rare balance: they are melodic and rhythmic narratives that activate a dancefloor’s collective body, but also press the dancer to really listen, to hear a wild range of fresh textures, bliss, grit and bass. With a fully-rounded sound ranging from leftfield techno and dubby house, to bumping bass and breaks, the sum total is mesmerizing – depth and tension, blissful and alien.

Threads of vocal samples are often woven in and out, and pivots from chugging bass to bright and weightless terrains animate the seamless progression. Sarkawt makes clear and icy sounds, merge with warm layers of noisy strokes. In the artist’s own words, each set is built as a layering of feelings and dynamics. More important than continuity of genre is the fluid transition from one energy to another, and Sarkawt plays the thin line of keeping these movements both consistent and unexpected. In drawing out a sonic space that allows for bliss to coexist with darkness and pensive depth, she tests how far she can push the tension without losing sight of the dance floor’s current state What one hears and dances to, and what makes her work thrilling, is the real-time experimentation of a DJ with markedly wide and deep taste.

Helena Renedo

Helena Renedo is an Amsterdam-based vinyl selector originally from Spain. Her approach is shaped by years spent on the dancefloor — listening, learning and building a deep connection with sound. Staying true to vinyl, she moves fluidly between techno, electro and house, drawing on Detroit and Chicago influences, as well as deeper and more minimal directions.
