Pelada + Derozan

Fast, loose, altering through different beat ranges and styles of dance music. We welcome Pelada – the musical project by Chris Vargas and Tobias Rochman, that found its genesis in the Montreal warehouse scene. We can’t put it more aptly than this: “Chris’s voice explores themes such as power, identity, struggle against patriarchy, surveillance and corruption, detonating a wild patchwork of acid bassline, breakbeats, industrial clangs and sounds that wink at Chicago’s first house, Detroit school, cumbia and the most abstract and abrasive club music, in a formula hybrid and iridescent like the socio-political landscape of our time.”
