“Like a blossom emerging from between the floorboards of a slaughterhouse, Moor Mother’s music is an act of transcending a violent, intolerable present.” (The Fader).
The music of Camae Ayewa has contoured and molded into many shapes. Cryptic and abstract hip hop as Moor Mother, avant-garde jazz with Irreversible Entanglements, No Wave rock as MoorJewelry and on the more deconstructed club side of things together with DJ Haram as 700 Bliss. Last year, Moor Mother released Black Encyclopedia of Air, a futuristic and mesmerizing record, “wafting through untouched space like the ghostly cinders of a world on fire, unbound and uncharted, vast and stretching across the universe.” We welcome Moor Mother in Garage Noord Together with The Rest Is Noise.
Tickets are free for Subbacultcha members and €15,- for non-members. Please make a reservation by sending an email to mailinglist@subbacultcha.nl with ‘Moor Mother’ in the subject line + your name in the email. Tickets can be purchased here. We update the RSVP list very Wednesday.
