We’ve noted how East London’s post-punk three-piece are perpetually asked about political views and thoughts on capitalism, to which they respond with the subject of dancing. That seems like a perfectly natural field of reference for a rollicking band like Shopping, so we asked them to share some jams that make them dance. Dig in to the playlist below and come dance on Monday, 2 May, when Shopping play at Rotown in Rotterdam.
1. Palais Schaumburg – Wir Bauen Eine Neue Stadt
Best dance moves in this Palais Schaumberg – Wir Bauen Eine Neue Stadt video, easily duplicated when you’re next in a club/ gig/ your bedroom.
2. Patrick Cowley and Sylvester – Menergy
Open the doors to that early 80s gay mecca-club in your mind.
3. Lizzy Mercier Descloux – Fire
