Stellar Om Source – Sudden

Having completely “deprogrammed” herself in the vein of kosmische music’s radical tenets for 2013’s excellent Joy One Mile, Christelle Gualdi returns to RVNG Intl. this summer as Stellar Om Source with the release of her Nite-Glo EP. Billed as a cathartic listen born from a transient period in her life, the four tracks on Nite-Glo reveal a shift in tempo, “tearing down any ornamental tapestry to uncover a core of luminescent synths and glowing 303 lines”. First cut ‘Sudden’ doesn’t exactly ease us into this new direction either. Recorded solely with live hardware, ‘Sudden’ gives way to a full blown acid-techno monster in its first minute, only to reinvent itself 3 times over over the course of the next 5 minutes. If you thought Joy One Mile was a ride, wait until you hitch to Nite-Glo.
