The career trajectory of Copenhagen’s Iceage hasn’t exactly been a straight line. When they released their debut album, New Brigade, they were barely out of their teens. And the world reacted in an unexpected way. Coming out of Denmark doesn’t guarantee you so much attention by American media, but Pitchfork hit the brandished their new work with a “Best New Music” and the rest is history. Followed by the even more punk and raw You’re Nothing, which set a predictable course for their third, they turned heads by dropping Plowing Into The Field Of Love last year: an outrageously heartfelt album with nods to alternative heroes like Nick Cave or Tom Waits.
