Matt Kivel – Days of Being Wild (Woodsist)
Though LA singer-songwriter Matt Kivel has said that the songs on his latest album (release 8 July) were inspired by a desire to do something more social and a newfound appreciation for classic rock artists like Tom Petty and The Cars, Days of Being Wild’s overall vibe is much mellower than its title suggests, and Kivel actually impresses me most when he’s at his most meditative and vulnerable-sounding.
